under Carl Vilhelm Hansen and with Fr. Vermehren at the Royal Academy of Fine Art.  Further academic
influence was derived from his attendance at the private art school of the legendary Skagen Painter P.S. Kroyer.

Wennerwald followed the greatest traditions of the luminous “Golden Age” Painters and exhibited at the
prestigious Charlottenborg Palace after 1882, at the Exhibition in Lubek (Germany) in 1895, at the Deer Park
Exhibition in 1913, Dresden in 1889 and Berlin in 1890.

The artist traveled extensively throughout Europe.  His landscapes depicting scenes from Switzerland, Italy,
Germany and Norway, are very popular among international collectors.  But most desired and best known are the
country scenes of his native Denmark, such as the subject work. This wonderfully composed painting is a very
desirable well-executed work by this highly talented artist.

Paintings by this nominated painter hang in a number of public and private collections, including the City
Museum of Copenhagen and the Johan Hansen Collection.

The artist is listed in E. Benezit; Thieme & Becker; Weilbach’s Artist Dictionary; Danish Artist by Hans
Slyngbom; Davenport’s; Artnet, and many others.
